where to find our favorite pie

Hey Reader,

The last few emails were pretty long to get you up to speed, so we’ll keep this one short. We’re also low key exhausted and have no mental capacity to do anything but logistics for moving into our new house (🎉🎉🎉🎉).

This may sound super obvious, but when we know we’re visiting somewhere, we literally just zoom in on Google Maps and click on random places.

This is how we found:

  • Loch Inver Larder while driving the NC500 in Scotland (best rhubarb pie of our lives)
  • Ammuccamu Milazzo in Sicily (insane arancini flavors)
  • Cafe Sladers in West Bay, Dorset, England (10/10 meal, dessert & art gallery)
  • Tempus Vini in Sofia, Bulgaria (an excellent, unique Bulgarian wine and cheese tasting)

Some of these may be in guides, but that’s not how we found them. Of course, just wandering around is also a great way to find new places, but when you’re on a road trip or in a more rural location, that's not always practical.

Try this on your next trip and let us know if you find anything cool.

Hi Reader, We’re back together in England and have officially made it to Dorset, where we’re spending some much awaited quality time together and enjoying staying in a cute coastal town for nearly a week. Which brings us to something we’ve been thinking (and writing) about a lot lately: settling down 🤭😮🤯. OBVIOUSLY it's not like we’re never going to travel again. We’re literally on a trip right now. But we do want things like a nice espresso machine, and a good vacuum, and cool rugs. Things...

Hello Dear Readers, Julia here. Tomorrow is a very exciting day: I’m flying back to England and can stay for good (actually, until I extend my visa in 2.5 years)! To catch you back up on my life: The situation: I left England in mid May because my six month tourist visa was ending. The problem: I couldn’t apply for my Partner Visa until late August and didn’t want to be long distance with Jess on separate continents for 5 months. The solution: I stayed in Europe until the end of July doing...

Hey Reader, Sooooo we once again took an unintentional break from the blog and our newsletter. Turns out applying for a long-term visa, flying to LA for a biometrics appointment, and just generally trying to sort our lives out takes a lot of mental energy (who knew). BUT! Good news. As of last week, Julia was approved for her Partner Visa and can come back to England next week (finally!!). So this is just a status update on our lives. Julia is flying into London, so we'll spend a few days...
